Real Estate Revamped: Kitchen Trends for 2015

Thought about revamping your kitchen lately? The new year means new emerging real estate trends. Here are a few we’ve put together – see if they inspire you!

  1. Statement wallpaper.
  2. Interesting wallpaper is guaranteed to add character to your cooking space. According to kitchen and bathroom designer Lee Hardcastle, “Wallpaper provides an easy way to add visual impact, even in small amounts. Wallpaper gives you the control of complementing the architectural elements throughout the kitchen or adding a beautiful contrast to an otherwise simple color palette.”

There is also a move away from geometric patterns and toward elegant, repetitive motifs instead. “Patterns from bygone eras will be revitalized to create intriguing and calculated designs that appeal to the fashion-savvy,” said Hardcastle.

  3. Bold ceilings.
  4. Whether it be through the use of creative lighting, bulkheads or coffer ceilings, ceilings are to become a part of a kitchen’s overall aesthetic in 2015.

  5. Luxury metallics.
  6. kitchen-sinks

White silver, chrome and stainless steel are three metallics commonly used in the kitchen. This year, however, warmer metals such as gold, copper and bronze will become more popular.

Warm, inviting kitchens have universal appeal. Interior designer Greg Natale suggests, “The texture and gleaming finish of metallics provide a stunning accent to most palette choices.”

  7. Playful textures.
  8. There is a move toward using more textured materials in the kitchen. Designers predict the use of natural marble and granite in honed finishes, along with engineered stones that replicate raw finishes in the year ahead.

  9. Wood kitchen cabinets.
  10. While wood in the kitchen is nothing new, it’s becoming a more popular choice in modern-day kitchens. Oak kitchen cabinets in particular have seen a dramatic surge in demand.

Many designers are now incorporating pale woods and honey-toned woods into their kitchen cabinet designs. Other designers are still favoring dark woodtones. Dark woodtones were popular throughout 2014, and it seems they’ll remain relevant in the year ahead.

Perhaps you’re just looking for a new home with a beautiful kitchen. Rancho Santa Fe has plenty of listings with up-to-date cooking spaces for any level of cook to enjoy. 7063 Via De Maya is currently for sale, and you don’t want to miss out on this one!
