Real Estate: California Communities

California is home to many of the country’s most sought-after ZIP codes and real estate. From bustling centers of innovation to small rural communities, California holds many of the top places to live and their dream homes do not disappoint. Listed are a few attractive communities in California and a featured home from each.

Atherton

Known as Silicon Valley’s own ‘Beverly Hills’, Atherton is Forbes’ most expensive ZIP code (94027) for the second year in a row.

In its six square miles of town, Atherton is a small residential and rural community covered with native live oaks, bays, redwoods, cedars, and pines among others. It has approximately 2,500 households and almost 7,000 people with a median age of 48.2 years.

Being in close proximity to Cupertino, Mountain View, and Menlo Park, it is no surprise that Atherton is such a wonderful place to live with companies based so closeby.

A real estate firm in the area has boasted of selling nearly $500 million worth of real estate for tech moguls. Owner of the firm, Ken DeLeon, says that Atherton is undergoing a construction boom with 12,000-square-foot homes going up, and going up fast.

It makes sense that so many people want to live in Atherton with its rural and prestigious community.

Palo Alto

As the birthplace of Silicon Valley, Palo Alto’s residents are highly educated, culturally and politically aware and involved. The city itself is more than 100 years old and has about 61,200 residents.

Residents also have a lot of pride in their city and many neighborhood organizations contribute to its historic and upscale residential and commercial areas. With strong pride in their amazing city accompanied by beautiful homes, who wouldn’t love living here?

Rolling Hills

Another fabulous place to live, Rolling Hills is a private, gated community located atop the hills of the Palos Verdes Peninsula in California. It maintains an equestrian, or ranch-style, environment.
