SCRC Bastille Day Attendees — Rancho Santa Fe Review

July 14th may not mean much to us in the Rancho Santa Fe, or America as a whole, as it is an entirely French holiday. Bastille Day is celebrated every year on the 14th of July in order to commemorate the famous storming of the Bastille which set the French Revolution in motion all the way back in 1789. However, this past week, Bastille day meant a lot more to the friends and families that call Rancho Santa Fe home.

Hosted annually by the Southern Caregiver Resource Center, the Bastille Day Celebration was held on Saturday, July 12th. Focused on honoring those who generously give their time and energy to take care of others, the celebration invited guests to come out and enjoy an afternoon of wine, food, and live entertainment. With one-hundred percent of the proceeds donated to the Southern Caregiver Resource Center, a silent auction was also held on the grounds of the Fairbanks Ranch Clubhouse.

The Southern Caregiver Resource Center is “a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides free support services for family caregivers caring for adults with chronic and/or disabling conditions.” With a long tradition of helping families in the community, “SCRC has been providing services to caregivers in San Diego County since 1987. SCRC continues to be the leading provider of caregiver support services in San Diego and Imperial counties, serving 30,000 clients annually.”

The Rancho Santa Fe Community is known for upholding the values of generosity and giving back to the community, and through events such as the Bastille Day Celebration, the community continues to honor and advance its philanthropic heritage.
