Rancho Santa Fe “Rancho Days” Event is in Full Swing!

Don’t miss it! The first Rancho Santa Fe “Rancho Days” event is going on in RSF.

Rancho Days, formerly an annual event, is now held every two years. The project was founded by longtime resident Gordy Bartow. In 1993, Bartrow had the idea to bring together all nonprofit organizations of Rancho Santa Fe in one collaborative event.

Since its beginnings, Rancho Days has been a celebrated way for the community to get together and celebrate the town’s heritage while also promoting partnerships between various community organizations.

This year, Rancho Days Chairman is Shannon Mountain. The event promises to host a stew of exciting and fun events for every member of the family to enjoy. Below are a few of the activities:

Friday, October 3rd:

  • 4-8 PM: Rancho Days kicks-off with the Rotary Fall Festival Family 35th annual BBQ, sponsored by the RSF Rotary Club & The Inn.

Sunday, October 5th:

  • 4-7 PM: The Village Church will be hosting BBQ, games, and a production of “Saga of Sagebrush Sal: A Comedy Western Melodrama.”

Tuesday, October 7th:

  • 7:30-10 AM: The Rancho Santa Fe Foundation hosts “Crepes and Coffee” at the Country Friends patio.
  • 5-6:30 PM: Petals & Prose Flower Exhibition and Reception. Event-goers are asked to select a book and create a flower arrangement that captures its spirit. Prizes will be given to those who correctly match the most arrangements to the displayed books.

Wednesday, October 8th:

  • 4:30 PM: Trail Walk. Participants will be asked to meet in the upper parking lot of the Golf Club for two different trail hikes. Afterward, refreshments will be provided on the Golf Club patio.

Friday, October 10th:

  • 2:30-4 PM: Strings in the Garden. RSF Senior Center hosts a garden reception with music by Caprice Strings. Meet friends and neighbors, enjoy Thyme in the Ranch goodies, and relax in the Senior Center garden.
  • 5-8:30 PM: KIDS’ Night Out | Parents’ Night Out. Kids will have the opportunity to take part in sports, games and crafts – pizza will be provided! Parents may participate in Neighbor Night.
  • 5:30-8 PM: Neighbor Night. Hosts on each street are asked to open their homes, and neighbors are invited to bring an appetizer to share and their favorite beverage. The Community Center will provide hosts with invitations

Saturday, October 11th:

  • 3-5 PM: Rancho Days Tennis Mixer. The Tennis Club invites community members to play in three rounds of doubles with a variety of partners, accompanied by good music and food. Afterward, beverages and appetizers will be provided.
  • 4:30-8PM: RSF Historical Society Fandango, a celebration for the end of Rancho Days 2014. Music by Mariachi Divinas, and food provided by Guillermo’s tacos.

Sunday, October 12th:

  • 8-11 AM: RSF Fire Pancake Breakfast. The Rancho Santa Fe Professional Firefighters Association and Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District will be hosting the annual breakfast at RSF Fire Station 1, 16936 El Fuego. The event will include station tours, photos with the firefighters, fire engine and ambulance displays, Basic CPR Class, jump houses, and more!
  • 11:30-1:30 PM: Fiesta de Osuna Adobe. Experience a little bit of history during a tour of the 1831 Osuna Adobe and enjoy a free lunch and entertainment by Los Californios (Musica Antique de Alta California).
