Halloween is just around the corner, and the Rancho Santa Fe community is ready to offer tons of fun for the entire family!

This year, the Rancho Santa Fe Education Foundation will once again host its popular Halloween Parade and Carnival event. The festivities, complete with costume contest, delicious food and, of course, lots of candy, have quickly become annual traditions that many in the community look forward to.
For all the first-time carnival-goers, the Halloween spectacular will be held at the R. Roger Rowe School, home to Rancho Santa Fe’s premier elementary and middle school facilities serving some 700 students.
The event will kick-off with an exciting costume parade, set to begin promptly at 12:15 PM. Students, families, and teachers from grades K-5 will be a part of the spectacle, which will wind through the Rancho Santa Fe Village and back to the school for the carnival.
The carnival will entertain kids and their families with a variety of annual favorites, including a rock climbing wall, photo booth, cake decorating contest, bungee trampoline, laser tag, bouncy mazes and slides, caricature artist, and DJ.
Of course, no carnival would be complete without a raffle and prizes. Make sure the kids come in their most creative costumes – they could win more than just candy! Adults have an incentive to take part in the fun and contests as well. Participants may win a grand prize of hotel and airfare to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The lower blacktop of R. Roger Rowe will feature a variety of food options. You’ll be able to grab a sweet or savory crepe from Isabelle Brien’s French Pastry Café, or a hot pretzel and lemonade from the San Diego Pretzel Company. Sweet tooth’s will be delighted by the liquid nitrogen ice cream from Subzero Ice Cream, flavored shaved ice from Kona Ice, cotton candy, homemade sweets, and more!
Tickets are required to purchase food and drink, as well as for participating in certain activities. Pre-sale tickets will be on sale from October 28th to October 30th for $30, and tickets purchased day of will cost an extra $5.
If the parades and carnivals aren’t exactly your scene on All Hallows’ Eve, the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe will be hosting a classic but very special trick-or-treat night. The local hotel may not be the first location that comes to mind when you think about where to go trick-or-treating, but the Inn is changing that up. This is the first year that the cottages will be hosting such an event, and it is sure to be a success.
From 6 to 8 PM on October 31st, little witches, princesses and ghouls are invited to enjoy trick-or-treating around the decorated cottages. The Graveyard Bar will offer drinks for the grown-ups. Morada’s bar, too, will be offering happy-hour prices throughout the entire night.

No matter how you like to celebrate the holiday, Rancho Santa Fe is sure to offer fun for everyone.
