Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Two Games In The Season

By: Connor Barry

Week 2 kicked off on Thursday Night in an offensive showdown between the Jets and the Bills. Following two unanswered touchdowns from the Bills to give them a 24-20 lead early in the second half, the Jets took complete control of the game and ran away with a 37-31 win. So less than 24 hours after the Bills defense gave up 493 offensive yards, the team announced that they fired their own Offensive Coordinator, Greg Roman. Roman, who was in the running for filling the Bills Head Coach vacancy before the team went with Rex Ryan, was hired just last January and was going into his second year as the team’s offensive coordinator. This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The Bills racked up nearly 400 yards on offense and fired their offensive coordinator the next day. It’s way too early to give any coaches the boot considering it’s only week 2 of the season. After a move like this, it shows that Rex Ryan is concerned about his job security. It’s the only reason you see things like this happen. It’s why Mike McCoy fired his coaching staff and brought in a new group of coaches for this season. Things are looking to turn sour out in Buffalo after a move like this and could signal the beginning of the conclusion of Rex Ryan’s tenure as the Bills Head Coach.
